OUR CURRENT PROGRAMS
Children in Need of Care and Protection
At the heart of our support efforts are children in need of care and protection, particularly those facing challenges such as disability, abuse, neglect, and socio-economic hardship. These children are often marginalized and face significant barriers to accessing basic services like education, healthcare, and emotional support. Our program is committed to providing holistic care that addresses their physical, emotional, and psychological needs, ensuring they receive a well-rounded foundation for future success.
Holistic Support for Children with Disabilities: We focus on children with disabilities, who are often excluded from mainstream social systems. Our services include specialized healthcare, rehabilitation, and early childhood development interventions that support the child’s physical, emotional, and cognitive development. We also work to promote inclusive education to ensure these children can access the same learning opportunities as their peers. Through collaboration with local health providers, we facilitate access to therapies, assistive devices, and medical care, helping children with disabilities participate fully in society.
• Child Protection and Safeguarding: We advocate for the rights of children in need of care and protection by implementing child protection mechanisms to prevent abuse, neglect, and exploitation. This includes community awareness campaigns, training caregivers and local authorities, and offering legal support where necessary. We focus on child safety, advocating for the enforcement of laws and policies that protect children’s rights and ensure they live in safe, secure environments.
• Early Childhood Development (ECD): A key aspect of our work is promoting early childhood development (ECD), focusing on the importance of the first 1,000 days of life. We provide parenting education, support for breastfeeding mothers, and nutrition programs that contribute to the optimal development of young children. Through these programs, we seek to enhance cognitive, social, and emotional growth, enabling children to enter school ready to learn and thrive.
• Home-Based Care: We recognize the importance of family-based care in nurturing children’s well-being. We provide support to caregivers by offering training in child care, nutrition, first aid, and emotional support strategies. We also focus on economic empowerment for caregivers, helping them access resources, skills, and training that allow them to provide a stable and supportive home environment. By reinforcing family structures and reducing reliance on institutional care, we ensure that children in need of care and protection grow up in a loving, supportive home environment.
• Counseling and Psychosocial Support: We offer linkages and referrals for counseling services to children and caregivers to address trauma, anxiety, and other mental health challenges. By supporting children’s mental health, we promote resilience and self-esteem, empowering them to overcome obstacles and thrive in their communities.
