After many years of interacting and extensively working with the community in the rural areas, M/s. Faith Ndung’u learnt many lessons. Many challenges the community were going through are as result of lack of awareness and this prompted her to think about the best way the community would address the many problems they were going through with a group of young people.

They started brainstorming together with few community leaders who were also opinion leaders. The result of these brainstorming sessions brought a solution that really amazed them. They realized that they were the solution of their own problems. With this mind-set, the founder embarked on a long journey of mobilizing the community to work together as a team so that they could spearhead transformation amongst themselves. M/s. Faith also realized that the best forum to achieve her dreams would be through an organized structure.

This noble idea gave birth to the registration of GEEP-Kenya. One of the major activity was empowering the community in different areas to enable them improve their livelihoods. This activity became the foundation of GEEP’s programs. The founder’s passion to achieve her long time dream of seeing a self-reliant community is still alive to-date. Through collaborations with like-minded people and organizations, GEEP-Kenya is today able to run different programs in the community, with the available local resources.
