The roots of GEEP-KENYA trace back to the deep understanding and empathy of M/s. Faith Ndung’u, the founder. After years of interacting closely with rural communities, Faith recognized a recurring pattern—most of the challenges faced by these communities were a result of lack of awareness and access to resources. This realization prompted her to think about how the community could address these problems on their own, without relying solely on external interventions.

Faith’s vision began to take shape when she started brainstorming with a group of young people and local community leaders, who were respected for their influence in the region. Through these brainstorming sessions, they arrived at a powerful insight: they were the solution to their own problems. This discovery sparked a mindset shift, emphasizing self-reliance, unity, and collaboration. Faith’s journey to transform the community began with the belief that local people could work together to create change.

Faith quickly understood that to make a lasting impact, an organized structure was essential. This realization led to the founding and official registration of GEEP-KENYA as a community-based organization. With a focus on economic empowerment, community mobilization, and collaborations with like-minded partners, GEEP-KENYA set out to improve livelihoods and address the root causes of poverty and marginalization.

From the very beginning, GEEP-KENYA’s core mission has been to help individuals and communities become self-reliant through a variety of programs. Today, with the support of partners and local resources, GEEP-KENYA continues to drive impactful programs across rural Kenya, striving to empower communities to take control of their future.
